H Design Group has been awarded the fundraising and architectural design services for St. Elizabeth Anne Seton’s 7 million dollar multi-phased addition projects. The current fundraising animation can be found at the following link: H Design Group – SEAS – Animation.m4v The project consists of a school addition, a new school cafeteria & commercial kitchen, a multi-purpose gymnasium, administration area, cafe/coffee-shop, enhanced common areas, conversion of old gym to fellowship hall, and miscellaneous site and facility improvements. The consulting team consists of Dake-Wells Architects (Design Consultant), Colvin Jones Davis (MEP), Mettemeyer Engineering (Structural), Friesen Engineering (Civil) and Interior Planning Consultants (Interior Design). Construction Documents are set to be completed in mid May of 2010. Nabholz Construction was awarded the General Construction contract and will be soliciting sub-contractor bids in late May.

H Design Group would like to announce that sealed bids for miscellaneous construction and renovation for Phase #1 Improvements within the Republic School District will be accepted at the Republic School Central Office Conference Room located in the rear of the Middle School at 518 N. Hampton, Republic, Missouri 65738 until 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) on May 4th, 2010, publicly opened and immediately read aloud.  Bids received after 4:00 p.m. will be returned unopened.

The overall project consists of four separate projects within four different existing schools including Schofield Elementary (Former Elementary I) located at 235 Anderson, McCulloch Elementary (Former Elementary II) located at an 234 Anderson, Lyon Elementary (Former Elementary III) located at 201 E. Hwy 174, and Price Elementary (Former Middle School) located at 518 N. Hampton. The scope of work at each school varies in complexity but generally includes selective demolition, reconfiguration of space, new walls, new restrooms, new finishes, painting, mechanical improvements, electrical improvements, new millwork and monument signage. Bidders may choose to bid on individual schools or all work within Phase #1 which is estimated at 1.3 million dollars. Schedule for building construction is limited between June 1, 2010, and August 1, 2010.  This project is receiving funding or financial assistance through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which requires the payment of prevailing wages under both Missouri’s Prevailing Wage Law and the Davis-Bacon Act.

Beginning April 12, 2010, copies of the related drawings and specifications will be available at Springfield Blue Print and Photo Copy Company located at 219 E. Pershing, Springfield, Missouri 65806, (417) 869-7316. Plans and specifications will also be viewable online at www.spfdblue.com . General Contractors only may obtain up to two (2) sets of construction documents and specification booklets for a deposit of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each set. The deposit check is to be made payable to the Republic R-III School District. The entire deposit will be refunded upon the return of the complete construction document and specifications booklet in good condition within fifteen (15) days after the bid opening.  There will be a maximum of thirty (30) sets of construction drawings and specifications printed for distribution to General Contractors.  After thirty (30) sets are distributed, all additional sets must be purchased.  General Contractors may also purchase additional sets of construction documents with specifications book, the cost of which will not be refunded.  Subcontractors will be required to purchase full set of plans with specifications book. A non-refundable shipping and handling fee of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) will be charged for each set shipped.   This amount should be paid by a separate check from the initial deposit for plans and specifications.  If overnight delivery is desired, it shall be paid directly to the carrier by the contractor.

A voluntary pre-bid facility tour has been scheduled for April 20, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. and will begin at the Republic School Central Office Conference Room located at 518 N. Hampton.
