H Design Group is pleased to announce that B. Todd Bolin, AIA has been promoted to partner of the firm. Todd earned his architectural degree from the University of Kansas in 1993 and has been with the firm since 2004. He has managed many notable HDG projects such as the Discovery Center Addition, the O’Reilly Family Event Center, and various projects for the Willard R-2 School District. Todd’s responsibilities will immediately expand to include project scheduling and general oversight to the architectural department. Todd joins current HDG partners Rob Haik, AIA and Brent M. Stevens, AIA.
H Design Group is pleased to announce that our team has been awarded by City Utilities to design their upcoming campus facility expansion located at the northwest corner of Boonville and Division in Springfield Mo. The project will be a multi-phased campus development that includes demolition, a new bus storage building, new bus service & wash facility, and renovation/addition/remodel of the current fleet maintenance facility. Total estimated construction cost for the entire campus project is 27 million. The prime firm for the project is Walter P. Moore who will also handle Civil & Structural Engineering. Other consultants include CJW Transportation who will perform surveying and street improvements, Maintenance Design Group who will be the specialty design consultant, Henderson Engineering will be the MEP engineering firm, and Patti Banks Associates will be the landscape designer.
H Design Group would like to announce that sealed bids for construction of the Willard Cafeteria addition at the Intermediate School will be accepted at Willard School Administrative Office located at 460 East Kime Street, Willard, Missouri 65781 until 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) on February 16, 2010, and publicly opened and immediately read aloud. Bids received after 4:00 p.m. will be returned unopened.
The project consists of an addition to Willard Intermediate School, located at 407 Farmer Road, in Willard, Missouri. The addition consists of a new cafeteria area for a total of 2,550 s.f. of new construction. The site work includes, but is not limited to, site grading, topsoil, and seeding. Building systems include concrete block masonry construction, brick veneer, steel joists, tectum deck, TPO roofing, windows, and other standard systems and trades.

Job Purchase Information: Copies of the related drawings and specifications are available at Springfield Blue Print and Photo Copy Company located at 219 E. Pershing, Springfield, Missouri 65806 (417) 869-7316. Plans and specifications may also be viewed online at www.spfdblue.com . General Contractors only may obtain up to two (2) sets of construction documents and specification booklets for a deposit of $100.00 for each set. The deposit check is to be made payable to H DesignGroup. The entire deposit will be refunded upon the return of the complete construction document and specifications booklet in good condition within fifteen (15) days after the bid opening. There will be a maximum of twenty-five (25) sets of construction drawings and specifications printed for distribution to General Contractors. After twenty-five (25) sets are distributed, all additional sets must be purchased. General Contractors may also purchase additional sets of construction documents and specifications, the cost of which will not be refunded.
A non-refundable shipping and handling fee of $35.00 will be charged for each set shipped. This amount should be paid by a separate check from the initial deposit for plans and specifications. If overnight delivery is desired, it shall be paid directly to the carrier by the contractor.
H Design Group, in conjunction with Hight-Jackson, has been selected by the Republic School Board as the architect for the district’s upcoming projects. With the transition of students into the new high school and the redistricting effort for K through 5 that will be in effect for the upcoming school year in 2010, H Design Group will work with the school board to make miscellaneous design upgrades and accommodations to the existing school buildings. H Design Group was selected from a group of 13 submitting architectural firms.
The staff at H Design Group is proud to announce the two newest members of the family. Brie Christine Haik, daughter of Rob and Brenda (and little sister of Miranda), was born Wednesday, December 16 at 6:37 p.m. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and measured 19.5 inches in length. Chase Bradley Capen, son of Matt and Karen (and little brother of Makenna), was born Friday, December 18 at 7:52 a.m. He measured 20.5 inches long and weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. The Haiks and the Capens are enjoying their healthy new babies, Brenda and Karen are recuperating, and both families are looking forward to a blessed Christmas and an exciting new year.

The hugely popular Prima’s Mexican Grill is planning a third location in Ozark Mo. H Design Group is the architect for the 4900 s.f. restaurant that will be located in the Brick Stone Retail Center adjacent to James River Assembly. Construction Drawings are scheduled to be completed On December 1, 2009. 
Springfield First Community Bank held their open house and official ribbon cutting on October 22, 2009. A strong turn-out of local patrons attended the ceremony that was catered by Gilardi’s Italian Ristorante. The new 16,000 square foot headquarter facility was designed by H Design Group and constructed by Eoff and Associates.
